The passing score for any course exam is 80% or higher. If you do not reiceve a passing grade on an exam, you will automatically be distributed a re-exam. If you do not pass after three attempts, you must call Bert Rodgers Schools technical support (800-432-0320) to have another exam distributed to you.
All Florida appraisers must complete 30 hours of continuing education for each two-year license, registration, or certification period. Those hours must include a 7-hour USPAP Update, a 3-hour update of license law and rules, and a 3-hour course on reviewing and updating the roles and rules of supervisor and trainee appraisers. You must complete your continuing education during each 2-year license period prior to the renewal deadline of November 30th of even-numbered years.
Yes. Please review FAC Rule 61J1-4.009. Trainees who register on or after July 1, 2003, must now complete post-licensing education prior to the second renewal. Trainees who registered before July 1, 2003 must complete post-licensing within the next two biennial renewal cycles.
After completing the required continuing education, appraisers may renew online at the DBPR Online Services http://www.myfloridalicense.com or by mail.
At least 60 days before the end of the renewal period, the DBPR will mail a renewal notice to your last known address. You may mail your fee and the renewal notice back to the DBPR after you have completed your continuing education requirements. Send to:
State of Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) 1940 North Monroe Street Tallahassee, FL 32399-0783

If you do not take your continuing education during the two-year license period and you send in your renewal notice, you could be subject to disciplinary action by the Florida Real Estate Appraisal Board. 1. If you do not renew by the renewal deadline your license, registration, or certification will revert to an inactive status. An inactive registrant, licensee, or certificate holder may elect to renew as active by submitting a request (Form RE-2060-1), proof of continuing education, and the appropriate fees to the DBPR. Also see Chapter 61J1-4.007 for more details.
2. When the total period of inactive status exceeds 4 years, the registration, license or certification shall automatically expire per 475.619(2), F.S. Two years prior to expiration, the DBPR shall give notice by mail to the last known address of the registrant, licensee, or certificate holder.
No, but the DBPR requires that you retain your Grade Report(s) for a minimum of two (2) years. If you are audited, you must show proof that you completed your continuing education requirement. Use the Request for Appraiser Change of Status Form RE-2060-1 http://www.state.fl.us/dbpr/re/forms/re-2060-1.pdf to notify the DBPR of your change of status. (Note: This form is a pdf file, and you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to download and print it.) Under "Check Action Required," fill in your "Appraiser Type" in the first block and the "Action Requested" in the second block.
